MOM 2005 Pricing and LicensingPublished: March 28, 2006
Pricing and Licensing InformationMicrosoft Operations Manager 2005 requires a Server License for each management server and an Operations Management License (OML) for each managed device. OML is offered in Enterprise and Standard Edition. An Enterprise OML is required for full application and server management and a Standard OML can be used for operating system and basic workload management. Another alternative for acquiring the Standard OML through volume licensing is the System Center Server Management License (SML) suite. The System Center Standard SML includes the Standard OML for Microsoft Operations Manager, and additionally the standard management licenses for Systems Management Server (SMS) and Data Protection Manager (DPM). The SML offers a simple, convenient and cost effective way to acquire the value of System Center server management for your Windows file servers.
