Ponzi Makes a Seattle Hotel Suggestion

05.15.2006 @ 12:21 AM PT | Chris Pirillo

This is not an endorsement, but Ponzi answered someone’s hotel question and I thought it was good enough to share here with the rest of the world:

I know the Silvercloud on Broadway is running a special. If you book more than a handful of rooms, they may give you an even better discount. The hotel isn’t downtown, but it’s only 10-15 minutes away. It’s in Capitol Hill - with a grocery store (QFC), coffee (Caffe Vita), and a handful of nice restaurants nearby. If price wasn’t an issue and I could stay where I wanted, it would be either the W or The Hotel Monaco on 4th (my two favorites in Seattle).

More Discussion Leaders Added

The dais is growing steadily. We’ve added a few more since our last update, as you can see. And yes, the best is yet to come!

Who’s Speaking At Gnomedex? Nobody. Everybody.

05.02.2006 @ 11:31 PM PT | Chris Pirillo

This year, there will be no speakers at Gnomedex. There will be no panels, either. We realize this is a radical departure from the norm, but there’s a method to our madness. We’ve begun to invite a select group of people to be discussion leaders - individuals who will stand on stage, present an idea or two, answer questions, and then generally lead the audience’s discussion and participation. Tomorrow, I’ll unveil one of our confirmed discussion leaders. I will continue to reveal them, one by one, over the course of the next few weeks. You must understand this, however: at Gnomedex, the audience always holds the stage. I’m not the first person to figure this out, though (thank you, Dave and Steve).

Xbox 360 Giveaways at Gnomedex

03.07.2006 @ 05:53 PM PT | Chris Pirillo

I’ve been winning Xbox 360s through a contest in recent weeks (if you’ve been following my personal blog). Instead of keeping them all for myself, I’m going to give them away to this year’s first 300 Gnomedex registrants!

Here’s the deal: TextPayMe is a new service that is giving users $5 for signing up - and for every 36 friends you refer to their service, you’ll receive an Xbox 360. I’ve already signed up enough friends to win *FIVE* Xbox 360s - and their contest isn’t over yet. I’m trying to win as many Xbox 360s as I can for you, but to make the odds better, I’m asking you to take a look and consider signing up for their service.

So, in many ways, TextPayMe is “sponsoring” the Xbox 360 giveaway at this year’s event - indirectly.
