Just about done encoding Donnie Darko (such a wonderful movie), only gonna take about an hour and 15 minutes, but the filesize/quality is what I am going for. Dr. Divx is what I used to get all the Cowboy Bebop eps into AVI about a year back...wonderful piece of software :D

It works really well. Unfortunetly it doesnt have xvid yet. This beta version will also only work till March 30, but by then a full release should be out.

    Hey.....Protoss,
I think we would all be curious (atleast the digg community) as to why u thing DD is such a wonderful movie. Please help me (us) sort out this whole time-space thingy.

What is ur specific interpertation of DD. Please let Digg know. TY.

I had to watch it twice... probably on 5-6 times now throughout the years I've seen this and I still have slightly different ideas each time I watch it. Something along the lines of God and that we all have a destiney, or perhaps an idea on what heaven would be like. Hard to say, best thing to do is to just enjoy your opinion on it unless you truely dont understand it and then there is always http://www.google.com

Ugh. Use xvid already. There are very easy to use DVD/file/whatever to xvid files out there and its much less a cpu hog.
  28. + 0 diggs bury this digg this
Well ajz8182, I just dunno :P I am not one to analyze a movie that well. I just like the total insanity of the movie. Sorry if it wasn't what u wanted.

A word of caution: I accidently installed Dr Divx 2 to a directory that I did not want to. When I uninstalled it (so that I could reinstall it to the proper directory) it deleted all of my DivX codec and DivX converter files! Now I have to re-download and reinstall DivX!

  39. + 0 diggs bury this digg this
Hmm,... I'm downloading it as I type this, yesterday I looked over and over for real media converters to whatever format... Real7ime Converter (R7C) is good, but I haven't been able to make it list the DivX codecs... and since I'm on Windows ME, any small video will end up hogging more than 2 GB if I don't have a codec for compression.

Anyone knows if Dr DivX 2.0 will work with RM files?

all you need to do is read The Philosophy Of Time Travel -by sparrow.
the book Donnie gets. its on the DVD somewhere. it explains why everyone is manipulating Donnie into accepting his fate and his responsibility for the artifact.

AutoGK does a decent job. However this is made "just for this purpose". slim.
Gordian is also good - it's great we have many killer choices that are free.

Um, Protoss.. your worried about Divx codec being to system intensive? Are you still running a 300Mhz proc? I mean, it's ok you are.. thats fine and all..

Gordian Knot has to be the worst tool I have EVER used.

I wish I could un-digg this. Worked one time and then crashed every time thereafter. And yeah, I had all the requisites installed.

    Even several reinstalls didn't help.

So I'll wait for it a final on this one.

From the site "The new Dr. DivX 2.0 OSS Beta is available for testing and development.".

BETA is available. Why has there been a flood of wrong titled articles on Digg lately? This is just like "Firefox 1.5 FINAL released!!!!" two weeks ago, when RC3 came out.
  54. + 0 diggs bury this digg this
yeah, it did that to me too. just replace the drffmpeg.dll. after I did that it worked just fine again.

    H.264 beats divx-type codecs hands-on.

    http://x264.nl/ - free implementation of H.264.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.264 - information.
